Our mission
Philosophy
We believe that the years from birth to six are the most important in life. These years truly are the "formative" years. We believe that you, as parents, and the environment you create at home are the strongest influences in your child's life. Our goal is to assist you in your work as parents by sharing Dr. Maria Montessori's insights concerning child development. The school is committed to broadening your child's world as well as helping each child go about the work of creating themselves.
The activities at the school are designed to foster creativity, competence, self-awareness, and awareness of others and the world in which we live. The children's activities are also structured to promote the love of learning, self-motivation, self-esteem, persistence of attention, inner discipline, and ordering of the child's environment.
The staff at Steppingstone Montessori School believes that in order for these goals to be realized, children must be allowed to be themselves within an atmosphere of trust, freedom, order, and responsibility. We are pleased to be your partner in this educational adventure.
